How You Can Help

Crowdfunder is now live!

Following an amazing response to our announcement on the 27th November of our move to Farmborough, we are delighted to announce now that our Crowdfunder is live. You can access it right here

The Crowdfunder is aimed at the biggest part of our project – getting the changing rooms, toilets and showers up to the required standard to the required level to deliver inclusive facilities for all to enjoy.

The crowdfunder isn’t the only way you can help:

  1. Share our story! Share it far and wide, we need all the help we can get.
  2. Volunteer – we need every hand on deck. Do you have a skill? Do you have materials? Or do you just want to give us some moral support? We would love to hear from you. Knowing that you’re behind us gives us the boost we need to deliver this. Ex players, opposition, family, friends – let’s hear you!
  3. Sponsors – there are sponsorship opportunities for all budgets. Get in touch if you think you can help.

Another successful youth season comes to an end

Last Friday (19th July) was the last youth cricket session of the 2024 season. We had over 75 children join us throughout the season ranging from 5 to 13 years old.

Also the under 11s and under 13s satisfied a number of fixtures, giving children access to competitive but fun cricket matches.

2024 also marked the first ever girls only matches played, with Temple Tigers winning two and losing one match at the Somerset County Ground.

We look forward to seeing you all again in the 2025 season.

New Under 11s and 13s Kit!

With the first youth training session less than a week away, we are pleased to share these photos of the new kit and what a beauty it is!

We have entered a team in both the under 11s and under 13s Pair league this year and both teams will have this fine kit to wear for those games. Under 11 games are held on Monday nights at 6pm and Under 13s are Tuesday nights at 6pm.

The fixtures for the under 11s and under 13s can be found below:

Help us get ready!

Mark Saturday 23rd March in your diary to help us get ready for the season.

As part of the national England Cricket Board campaign powered by the Cricket Collective, we are asking anyone and everyone to lend a hand on Saturday 23rd March at the Cricket Club. Aim is to meet around 11.30, a plentiful list of tasks will be available to suit all abilities and skills. The kettle will be boiled and a few biscuits around to keep energy levels up.

Passing of Gordon Jackson

Club legend and stalwart, Gordon Jackson passed away this summer and condolences were shared with his family and friends on behalf of all at Temple Cloud Cricket Club.

Over his time as a player and Committee member at Temple, Gordon undertook every role available including Chairman and contributed immeasurably to the club’s running in good times and not so good times.

He will be remembered fondly by the TCCC family and wider community.

Club Legend Gordon Jackson RIP

No Youth Cricket 2nd June

With half term upon us, upon consultation with parents we have decided not to run youth cricket next Friday (2nd June). It seems like many have plans so we will add another session on the end of the season in July.

Whilst writing I am pleased to update that the season has started well with between 30 and 50 children and their parents enjoying the coaching and facilities available at Stowey Road.

We are still on the look out for more children looking to take part in competitive cricket for both the under 11s and under 13s. Both teams play in the 8 a side “Pairs” cricket league, this is a format which gives everyone a good chance to hone their skills.

Drop us a line via Facebook, on here or contact the coaches directly, details available on the under 11s and 13s page.

Thank you Sponsors

2022 and 2023 have been tough in terms of cost of living and particularly energy costs. Our club stays on it’s path through the hard work of a mix of volunteers but also the generosity of our sponsors and supports.

Coming into this season with energy prices increasing amongst other things, the financials looked tough particularly as we are looking to expand activities rather than shrink.

Step forward club legend Simon ‘Mo’ Mohoney who has helped find us a fantastic range of new sponsors for 2023.

Please take some time to click on our sponsors links to the right of the page and see some of the legends who are helping not just keep our 100 year + club going but to grow and thrive. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. With services and products ranging from almost everything, why shop anywhere but someone who sponsors TCCC?

We will be having a number of sponsors days throughout the season to give us a chance to say thank you and you’ll soon be seeing enhanced sponsor profiling on match days and in social media posting including our new Facebook page.

Chelwood Community Fund Grant!

Our aim at TCCC is to expand the number of our community across neighbouring villages using our club facilities. This includes youth cricket, adult cricket and social membership and we are very pleased to announce (and grateful) that the Chelwood Community Fund will be providing us with a grant to do even more of this in 2023 and beyond.

Chelwood Community Fund is a registered charity established to distribute surplus funds generated by Chelwood Community Energy for the benefit of the local community.

At TCCC our youth and adult players and social members are drawn from across local villages including Chelwood so we are delighted that they are supporting us to enhance the facilities which in turn will help us support more of the community.

The grant money will be used alongside the club’s own funds to invest in our changing facilities, toilet facilities and showers. This will make our offering accessible and appealing to children, parents and adult players alike.

This grant will directly help us with our ambition of expanding our youth section. Rebooted in 2022 and just started again for 2023, our aim is to provide cricket coaching from 5 through to 13 year olds for local boys and girls.

The club has made and will continue to make significant investment in youth cricket and in doing so provide affordable and inclusive access to coaching for local children.

Thank you to Chelwood for their incredibly generous support and we look forward to updating you all as works progress this year.
