Preparation for 2019 season

December 2018 AGM

A good smattering if members discussed the season just gone and the season to come at the pavilion in early December.  The highlights for all were the first full year of Youth Cricket for some years and the Somerset Cup win for the 1st XI.

Captains for for the year ahead will be Kevin Curtis for the 1st XI and the 2nds will be run by Richard Appleyard and Simon White.

The committee remains the same for 2019.

Members will be invited to Stowey Rd during the pre-season to assist with getting the ground and pavilion in good order sometime in March/April via the Facebook page.

Clubman of the Year 2017

Gordon Jackson – Temple Cloud CC, Clubman of the Year 2017.

The evening of Saturday 2nd September provided a lovely way to end the season despite two losses for the Saturday XIs.

A fantastic ‘all you can eat barbecue’ laid on by Mrs W and Howard drew a very good crowd to Temple Cloud CC following the final games of the season.

1st XI players of the season were C Diaper and S Curtis for their contributions to the WEPL campaign.

2nd XI player was Alex Comer for scoring over 700 runs and Dan Raisebeck for his bowling performances throughout the season.

Father Hayne speaks of Gordon’s contribution to TCCC.

The highlight of the evening was the very deserved award of ‘clubman of the year’ to Gordon Jackson.  This was very well received by all present.

Thanks were also offered to the grounds team of Steve Curtis, Andrew Hayne and Tim Raisebeck.

Members also thanked those running the Youth teams and the team captains for the relentless work of trying to ensure that Temple Cloud was always able to field full XIs each week.

It’s fair to say that a lovely night was had by all.

Roll on 2018 cricket season … unless Donald Trump has us all before then!

It’s up to this man if we will have a cricket season in 2018.

Feeling confident?

Alternatively we could let the Trivago Girl be in charge.  What would you prefer?
